FAQs
-
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting fine, single-use sterile needles into specific points on the body to restore balance, relieve pain, and support the body’s natural healing processes. It’s commonly used for stress, anxiety, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, and musculoskeletal pain.
-
Acupuncture is widely used for pain relief—including back, neck, arthritis, headaches, fibromyalgia—and has WHO‑recognised effectiveness for specific conditions such as chemotherapy-related nausea, depression, allergic rhinitis, induction of labour, gastrointestinal symptoms, and more. It also support other areas like stress, insomnia, asthma, and infertility.
-
Most people find acupuncture to be very gentle and relaxing. The needles are hair-thin, and sensations can vary from a dull ache to a slight tingling—often followed by a deep sense of calm.
-
Fire cupping is a technique that uses glass cups and heat to create suction on the skin. This promotes blood flow, releases tension in muscles, and helps move stagnation. It can leave temporary marks that fade in a few days and are part of the natural healing response.
-
Cupping is especially effective for muscle tightness, back and shoulder pain, tension headaches, and respiratory issues like colds or congestion. It’s often used alongside acupuncture for enhanced results.
-
The infrared heat lamp delivers soothing, penetrating warmth that helps increase circulation, relax muscles, and support the flow of Qi (energy) in the body. It’s a gentle yet powerful addition to acupuncture treatments.
-
Yes, acupuncture, fire cupping, and infrared heat therapy are safe when performed by a trained practitioner. All needles are single-use and sterile. Cupping and infrared heat are applied mindfully based on your comfort and health needs.
-
This depends on your condition and wellness goals. Some people feel immediate relief, while others may benefit from a series of treatments to see lasting improvement. We’ll discuss a plan that’s right for you during your first session.
-
After your session, drink plenty of water and allow your body to rest. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and caffeine for a few hours. It’s a good time to slow down and let the treatment settle into your system.
-
Avoid heavy meals, alcohol, or caffeine for at least 1-2 hour before your appointment. Try to come in a relaxed state, and wear loose, comfortable clothing.
